This could easily be taken as a pessimistic view of the world, however, I believe it speaks to the importance of appreciating everything that you have while you have it and to not grow attached to things and desperately try to hold on to them. If you can let go of attachments, then you can let go of the fear of living and instead embrace all of life as it comes to include the whims of Fortuna.
